MEET OUR EDITORS
Matt Vidler - Senior Editor
Diploma - Criminology & Social Policy
Matt studied screenwriting and production, and has a Diploma in psychology, social policy and criminology.
He has many years of experience working as a professional copywriter and editor for a variety of clients. Like the rest of the editorial team, Matt is passionate about L.R. Price’s commitment to helping unpublished authors launch their writing careers.
He says: “It is incredibly refreshing to find a new publishing company willing to base their model on new, unpublished authors… For those perhaps not fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity of financial assistance with their book, my advice is that there are always other avenues, and that's where I think working with L.R. Price appeals to me the most: because it embraces all models…”
Benjamin Joseph Taylor
MA, BA Comparative Literature & Linguistics
Benjamin graduated from King’s College London with an MA in Comparative Literature having previously read English Language & Linguistics with Comparative Literature. He has particular interests in Stylistics, Semiotics and Post Structural theory, The Avant-garde and Psychoanalytic perspectives on literary theory.
Benjamin has now left L.R. Price to focus on his PhD. We wish him all the best and thank him for all his hard work.
He says “As a student of stories I, perhaps predictably, take the view that the world is built of narratives. I also think that great ideas and stories lurk everywhere. I do, however, acknowledge that there are a great many obstacles that prevent these stories from achieving a life. The remit of small independent publishers like L.R. Price is to help story tellers to successfully navigate those obstacles by providing expertise at all stages in the process of publishing a work.”

He is passionate about art and describes being an illustrator as his dream.
He is founder and head artist of David Bailey Arts.
Russell Spencer - Managing Editor
Diploma - Law & Business
As well as studying Creative Writing, English Language & Literature, Russell has qualifications in accountancy and a diploma in Business Management and Law. He acts as managing editor as well as the company secretary for L.R. Price.
Prior to becoming involved in publishing Russell worked in the legal and security industries. He is passionate about helping all unpublished authors and also is an avid supporter of literature outreach programs.
"Having worked with Law for over decade I know what power words and narration can have. In cases of litigation a single word can make or break a case and cost a party thousands of pounds. Even in the everyday world literature can set people free. Books open up new worlds to readers that they never knew existed...
...Today modern technology means that it is easier than ever to get a book printed but equally it has never been harder for unknown authors to get recognised. This leaves writers at a cross roads, much like the publishing industry was itself at, five years ago - whether they should embrace independent, technology lead, self-publishing; or wait out the rain for years and years for a traditional pulp and paper publishing deal.
"I believe that there is a middle route. And as managing editor it is my job to see that L.R. Price provides that and bridges the gap and gives all authors should be given a fair chance to have their work and their books published.”
