These are for people who wish to make use of the vast experience of our editors, authors and illustrators, but don't wish to enter into a publishing agreement with us or become an author with us at this stage.

Editing - The editing process is a fundamental part of bringing your writing into the wide world. Before your text hits the laps of your readers you want to be certain that there are no little niggles or overwhelming errors that undermine the quality of your work. There are a number of ways in which our editing team can help to improve your manuscript, and the amount of editing required will usually depend on the individual text.

The following services will help you get an idea of the ways in which our editors can lend a hand: -

Editorial Assessment - This is a preliminary stage of the process and will help us to understand more fully the type of work your manuscript will require before it is at a publishable standard. An assessment will judge which areas of your writing require a light touch up or areas that require a more rigorous overhaul. Focusing in the overall fluency, consistency and accuracy of the text, this assessment can be carried out on either a small section of your writing, perhaps just a chapter, or more extensively over larger sections of the text. With the evaluation complete you will be in a better position to develop your work based on its strengths and weaknesses. 

Content Editing - Content editing looks at the big picture of your work. It will allow you to understand how well your story is structured, how well-developed your characters are and how consistent your writing is overall. At this point we can help to eliminate unnecessary digressions, confusing utterances and any general internal inconsistencies of your writing. With this process complete you will have a good idea of how you can improve the overall integrity of your text and start to develop your work to its full potential. 

Line Editing - Line editing works to ensure that the creative content of your work is the best it possibly can be. Light suggestions could be made here to ensure that the work is making the best possible use of language by addressing stylistic features at the sentence and paragraph level of the text. By addressing aspects such as word choice and order, structure, tone and pace, our editors can make suggestions to make sure your authorial intentions are perfectly executed. 

Copy-Editing and Proof Reading - Spotting other people’s errors is easy - it’s your own mistakes that are the most elusive. If you’re intending your work to be available for public consumption, then it is immeasurably important that every letter, word and punctuation mark is exactly as it should be. A copy editor will focus on the technical elements of writing making sure that spelling, grammar and the overall consistency of the text is in order. Typesetting - This is the process of taking a manuscript  and setting it out onto a page, ready for it to be printed. Good page layout ensures that the  content of the book is clear and accessible. 

eBook Formatting – Our experts will turn your digital manuscript into an actual eBook which can be sold, downloaded and read. 

Ghostwriting - Perhaps you have a story mind but matters of style, structure and syntax are putting you off. Perhaps you simply don’t have the time to fully commit to penning the text yourself.
